At Portland Place School we are determined to help girls and boys from all backgrounds to enjoy an outstanding education. With this in mind we are launching the Portland Place Bursary Fund which will provide a Portland Place education to talented pupils from less privileged backgrounds.
The Fund also operates as an essential support mechanism for the children of current Portland Place parents. Support from our community, to raise funds for pupils whose parents fall into financial or other difficulty, will allow us to continue to provide much needed assistance to such pupils.
“We want to identify untapped talent irrespective of parental means, to nurture potential and to develop character and attitude.”
Over the past few years, we have been able to support a number of pupils, enabling them to join the community of the school or remain here when unforeseen difficulties made that financially challenging.
We are seeking to build an enhanced endowment fund in the coming years, so that such a tradition is sustained. Such a fund will enable us to look for those children who will flourish and develop individually but we are also looking for those whose presence in the school will have a positive impact on the experience of others. “We want to identify untapped talent irrespective of parental means, to nurture potential and to develop character and attitude.”
We want to identify untapped talent irrespective of parental means, to nurture potential and to develop character and attitude. In the process, we want to change lives for the better.
“Gifts of any size make a real difference and are received with genuine gratitude.”
This year we are re-launching the Bursary & Scholarship Appeal with an initial plan to raise funds to support at least one additional pupil on a full bursary each year, while making efforts to establish a significant endowment fund. We will continue to raise funds to provide valuable support for those girls of current parents who fall into unexpected difficulty. Our ambitious appeal target is to raise £500,000 over the coming years. All monies raised are administered by our partner charity The Gold Standard Charitable Trust. Charity No. 113099
